Ancient Greek Culture

Ancient Greek culture consisted of quite a few things ranging from religion to clothing, education to art and so on. Here we mention a bit about every aspect of the ancient Greek culture. We start with religion. The Greeks would worship quite an array of gods. They used to believe that their gods would appear in human form and had super human strength as well as ageless beauty. The Iliad as well as Odyssey give us examples of the Greek humans interaction with the gods and goddesses. We also see various gods and goddesses in their art work like pots, vases and so on.

Another very important part of ancient Greek culture was their clothing. The Greek clothing was kept extremely simple. The men as well as women would wear cotton in summer and wool during the winter. The ancient Greeks would only buy their clothes in the agore which is also the market place but this was where the expensive clothes would be found. The families who could not afford buying clothes would make their own. These clothes were simple tunics and also warm cloaks which would be made from linen or wool and they would be their dyed or bleached white.
